A warm congratulations to November's Friend of the Month, the lovely and talented soprano, Leslie Fagan. I first met Leslie when I was singing with Hans Graf at Wolf Trap with the National Symphony in Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream. I'll never forget the torrential rain of that evening or that magic in the air during the actress' last monologue which somehow drew a firefly or something glimmering about her head. It was indeed a Midsummer Night's Dream! Since then Leslie and I have sang together (again with Hans) with the Calgary Philharmonic in Mahler's Symphony No. 2 ("Resurrection").
